‘Energy tariffs could come down in 10 days’
In a positive development, Dr Miftah Ismail, the newly-appointed Adviser to the Prime Minister for Finance, Revenue, and Economic Affairs, said that power tariffs could come down in the next 10 days, as the government makes efforts to lower the cost of doing business.
Instead of giving rebates, the government will look to ensure affordable power tariffs, said Ismail, the de-facto finance minister, who was also quick to dismiss the possibility that gas would be provided at a uniform rate across Pakistan.
