The government has kicked off work on implementing the plan of splitting state-owned power distribution companies for their better management and developing a consumer-oriented approach.

In a meeting held on Thursday, Federal Minister for Power Division Sardar Awais Ahmad Khan Leghari issued directives that board of directors of Multan, Lahore and Peshawar electricity supplying companies must decide on their division and their chief executive officers should immediately table consolidated proposals for consideration of the boards.
