The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (Nepra) has revoked the generation licence of Karachi Energy Limited (KEL) over company’s alleged failure to implement the coal conversion project.

According to Nepra, KEL being the sole utility in Karachi with an obligation to increase generation in the city, cannot indefinitely wait for the coal conversion project to materialize.
