Public sector consumers pay bills after power suspension

LAHORE: Lahore Electric Supply Company (Lesco) on Wednesday disconnected power supply to various public sector entities, including Pakistan Rangers (Punjab), Intelligence Bureau, Anti-Corruption Establishment and Punjab Civil Secretariat, for not paying the bills.

According to official sources, it was the first time that power supply to Punjab Rangers has been disconnected.

However, the sources said, the supply to the Rangers was later restored after payment of the bill.

The supply to Haji camp was also restored reportedly after the Lesco came to know that the actual defaulter was the bank that had set up a counter at the camp.
