Balloki power plant passes combined-cycle test run

LAHORE: The combined-cycle Balloki power plant of 1,223-megawatt capacity, which is located in Kasur, has completed its reliability test run, which is one of the most important tests before the start of a power plant.

In this test, operations and performance of an entire power complex is tested under various conditions and on several loads before being approved for commercial operations. The Balloki power plant completed its simple-cycle test run on August 16, 2017 and started simple-cycle production on August 30, 2017 for the supply of 760 megawatts to the national grid. Since then, the power plant has supplied 1.8 billion units to the national grid amounting to Rs18 billion.
