ISLAMABAD: Senate Standing Committee on Power headed by Senator Fida Muhammad on Tuesday directed Power Division to take appropriate measures to avoid load-shedding during Eid holidays.

The committee gave these directions after a detailed briefing to the committee on power situation in the country.

The committee was informed that the country’s present short fall is 4560MW on 10 June against demand of 23,301 MWs and generation of 18,742MW. The shortfall which was 3,530MW last month increased due to increase in temperature throughout the country.
