SWC urges uninterrupted power supply

KARACHI: Sindh Water Commission (SWC) on Monday urged to provide uninterrupted supply of electricity to energize water supply and sewerage schemes across the province and asked Federal Secretary Energy to take appropriate measures in this regard.

Certain schemes are non-functional for want of electricity connections and there are many more schemes, which require uninterrupted supply of electricity feeders, the commission, headed by former judge of Supreme Court Justice Amir Hani Muslim was informed.

A list of such schemes was provided to the commission and copies of these have been forwarded to CEOs of HESCO and SEPCO. “The Secretary Energy may direct the department concerned within the province to energize these schemes on priority basis as these conform to the water and sewerage that have direct bearing on human lives,” the commission observed.
