PBIF president demands end to power outages in Karachi

KARACHI: President of Pakistan Businessmen and Intellectuals Forum (PBIF), Mian Zahid Hussain, has lamented that protracted power outages in Karachi have deprived daily wage earners of their employment and engendered severe decline in businesses.

“Load-shedding of electricity has become a daily routine during this hot weather that badly affect almost all segments of society,” he said, adding that industrialists suffered the most as they faced 8-hour load-shedding daily that brought industrial production down alongside delay in export orders.

Mian Zahid referred that SSGC said 90 MMCFD gas was being provided to K-Electric despite their agreement of 10 MMCFD while K-Electric required 190 MMCFD gas supply to cover the shortfall of 500MW of electricity.
